Remember me in your prayers!
So what's a rosary book doing on a Disney travel site?
God has blessed us with a successful
online
business for over 10 years and we would like to show our gratitude
to Him and to our Blessed Mother by using our publishing expertise to help
spread the good news: that God loves us very much!
Do you find the the repetition of the rosary prayers boring?
Well, it doesn't have to be! Imagine...
The calm, rhythmic repetition of the prayers... like soothing celestial
music... like Gregorian chant in the background... while we daydream
about the Lord. Not your everyday kind of daydream, but a dream where we
visualize - even become a part of - a scene in the life of Christ!
That's how its supposed to work. Not too difficult if you have a fertile
imagination. If not, then the meditative, visualizing aspect of the rosary
may prove to be a stumbling block. Let's look at the process more closely.
It takes about five minutes to pray the ten Hail Marys that accompany a
particular mystery. That may not seem like a long time to meditate on a
particular scene, but some may run out of ideas after just one minute! And
you have five such scenes to create in your mind; twenty if you say the complete
rosary! Moreover, you're bound to eventually get bored with the scenes you
create which can lead to a loss of interest.
I've been saying the daily rosary for years and have experienced the same
problems. However, one day I happened to open a book of commentaries on each
of the Mysteries and I wondered if I could read the commentary to myself
while praying the Hail Marys of the rosary outloud. Not only was it possible,
but it was extremely interesting. In fact, I came to the end of the rosary
and didn't realize I had run out of beads! Now that's what I call being
swept away by the power of prayer!
Moreover, that was just the beginning. Since then I've read the Life of Christ
by Fulton Sheen, the 4-Vol Life of Jesus Christ by Anne Catherine Emmerich,
The 4-Vol City of God by Sister Agreda, the Meditations on the Life of Christ
by Thomas A Kempis, and many more! Just choose readings that pertain to the
mysteries you're praying. I could even read the New Testament while praying
the rosary since all but the two last Glorious Mysteries are drawn from the
New Testament! I'm always looking for spiritual literature to use for rosary
meditations. Talk about keeping the rosary fresh!

For those who are particularly appreciative...
Donna and I are fortunate to live near Emmitsburg, Maryland which is the
home of the Shrine of Saint Elizabeth Ann Seton, Saint Mary's Seminary, and
the National Shrine Grotto of Lourdes. The Grotto, known affectionately as
"Mary's Mountain," is a replica of the shrine in Lourdes, France and draws
thousands of visitors from around the world who come to pay homage annually
to our Blessed Mother. They are in much need of funds to build a Visitors
Welcome Center. If you feel that our prayer book has been of value to you
and would like to show your appreciation, we invite you to make a donation
to their wonderful cause securely online at:
https://www.msmary.edu/support-mount/givingform/giving_form.
Choose "Grotto Fund" as your gift purpose. Thanks and may God bless you!
"Eternal Father, I unite my thoughts to Mary's thoughts,
united to your thoughts. Eternal Word, I unite my words to Mary's words,
united to you who are the Eternal Word. Holy Spirit, I unite all my love
and work to the love and work of Mary, united to you who are infinite love
and unceasing activity."
