Beth writes about room rates for 2011: "Disney very quietly solidified their 2011 room rates this week and while I’ve not yet come anywhere near seeing ALL the rates yet, what I have seen is surprising – and a little scary. For instance, 7 nights in value season in a standard room at a value resort for this year is $668 with tax. The January 2011 rate is $716 for that same scenario. Yikes! The good news is that, no matter what the “rack” (published) rates are, Disney can lower them to anything they want to with the use of promotional offers. I have no doubt whatsoever that they will have to run some nice ones to get rooms filled this winter if this sample is any indication of the new rates as a whole. My guess is that Disney is covering the bases so that, if the economy substantially improves next year, the rack rates will be set to support higher selling fees. I don't think it’s a likely event, but it’s nice to see that Disney’s so optimistic! THE IMPORTANT THING TO NOTE is that I can now book you a basic package for 2011. What that means is that we can lock in your space and get you a resort confirmation number so that you can book your dining and Grand Gathering events at the 180 day mark. We'll have to wait until probably mid-August to be able to add tickets and a dining plan, and even longer before we can get a promotional offer applied, but this is a good start. Remember that the deposit is only $200 within a week of booking, and that’s 100% refundable as long as you cancel no later than 45 days prior to arrival (the final payment date). If you're considering a Disney vacation next year, especially during a peak time or over a holiday weekend, NOW is the time to get your space set up. As part of my service (included with your Affordable Disney membership), I'll watch for promotional deals that you'd qualify for and automatically change you over, so you have nothing to lose by booking early."
