News From Around The "World" WALT DISNEY WORLD "Hungry Walt Disney World guests at the new Soarin' attraction have a brand-new venue for dining in The Land pavilion at Epcot. Sunshine Seasons, in the giant atrium of the pavilion, has a new look and a new 'fast casual' menu. Four shops offer a diverse selection of fresh eats... There is no fried food or pizza, no burgers -- everything is prepared as you watch. It's designed to excite the senses." "For the next seven weeks, Epcot will bloom with bouquets of custom displays themed to the 'Happiest Celebration on Earth,' Disney's global jubilee celebrating 50 years of magic at Disney parks and resorts. Intricately detailed topiaries, multi-colored beds of flowers, a lush rose garden, meticulously crafted bonsai trees and other wonders of the plant world will complement thousands of other varieties of flowers and trees at the Epcot International Flower & Garden Festival. The show will add living color to the largest celebration in Walt Disney Parks and Resorts history." The culture isn't American. It's Disney... Among the Hong Kong workers' tasks is learning the language of Disney. Workers are called 'cast members,' and visitors are referred to as "guests.' Special encounters at the theme parks are 'magical moments.' Disney workers don't go to work, they 'put on a show.' When workers are out in the park, they're 'on stage.' "Hong Kong's government has advised Disneyland not to sell tickets at the turnstiles at its new park because of worries about crowd-control problems, and a Disney official said Friday it would consider the issue." "I thought I knew all the tips for saving money at WDW, even being a member of the Magic Kingdom Club for over 15 years, but just learning about [your ticket agent] saved our family over $300.00! Thanks." Janet Handy, Bel Air, MD "Plenty of roadside outfits in Orlando promise discounted tickets, but most of them really want to rope you into a time-share sales pitch in exchange for vouchers - accept at your own risk. [Affordable Disney's ticket agent], though, is legit." The New York Post, November 16, 2004. NEVER overpay again! Join our Disney family today and keep that extra money in YOUR pocket!
Free airport parking? Beth, our travel agent, writes: "If you're a Florida resident that flies from time to time then you learn very quickly that Orlando often has fares significantly lower than other airports in the state. While driving several hours to the Orlando airport to save $50 may not make any sense, if you're going to save hundreds then it's worth a thought. I did it myself once, and checked into a Days Inn near the airport that allowed me to leave my car there while I was gone. They provided free transportation to the airport and back, too. It was a yucky hotel with nothing to do close by, but I saved a lot on the air. Now, though, I and the rest of my fellow Floridians have another option! Disney confirms that you ARE permitted to leave your car parked at Disney for free and use their new complimentary airport shuttle service provided you spend at least one night before and one night after your trip at a Disney hotel, and it has to be the SAME hotel on both ends. You just add one-way Magical Express information to each reservation, and let the front desk know that you'll be leaving your car in the lot until you get back. (Note that only Disney resort guests with reservations can use the Magical Express, so you can't stay offsite and then just park at Disney and use their airport transfers.)"

Cynthia writes: "My niece, and my best friend's daughter, are graduating from high school in May. We decided to take them to WDW in celebration of this event. We have planned to go May 23-27, however, I wanted to find out from you if this is a good time to go. We will only have three days in the parks so I want to go during a time when we can cover a lot of ground and the girls can get the most out of their experience. I believe that is the week before most schools let out for the summer, but I'm not sure. Thanks so much for the great newsletter and online book. We always enjoy out Affordable Disney breaks! God bless." It is the week before many schools let out. However, the regular season includes April 17 - August 27. Crowds will be heavier than if you were going during the value season: January 1 - February 16, August 28 - October 4, November 27 - December 19. Still, you will be out of there before the Memorial Day weekend visitors crowd the parks. Thanks for your kind comments!
Michelle writes: "I got the rooms I wanted at the Port Orleans-riverside waterview rooms for $103.00 a night... Thanks. I saved over $600.00!"
