Beth, our travel agent, writes about the Hotel Royal Plaza:

"I've had a few questions about this resort - not sure if any are your readers or not - but here's the scoop...

It's true that they are not accepting any reservations for stays starting prior to February 3, 2005. Many of the buildings in the area sustained heavy damage from Hurricanes Charley and Frances, and this building was particularly hard hit, so they will be closed for the next several months and those with existing reservations there need to make alternative plans.

There has long been rumor that the resort was going to become a Crown Plaza and it was obvious to anyone that's been there lately that they'd need to do a huge refurbishment in order for that to happen, so maybe they will emerge from this with a new name - or at least worthy of one. In any case, I expect some great deals to be out for the place, so anyone planning a trip in February might want to consider it as an option to a value resort or maybe even a moderate."

Are You Suffering Withdrawal From WDW?

You know ... that empty feeling you get when you arrive back home from your vacation at WDW and realize it may be a while before you experience that Disney magic again? We have had that feeling ourselves many times. Yet, we always seem to feel better when we read about the experiences of others who share their trip reports with us. It's almost like being there again.

We invite you, our readers, to send us some feedback about your experiences during your latest vacation at WDW. Reports on Disney weddings, honeymoons, cruises, and resort vacations on and off Disney property are all welcome. Send your email to: johngross@affordabledisney.com . Thanks!

Kim visited WDW in June, 2004. Here is part three of her trip report:

"Well this note is turning into a long letter!!! I'll try to hit the highlights of the whole vacation. Wow, where do I start, there were so many!!!

Well the first night we went to Downtown Disney by way of the boat. You are absolutely right. this trip is one of the best kept secrets of WDW. When you come back to your room in the dark with all the lights, it is beautiful!!! While at DD we ate at Planet Hollywood (everyone has to see this place). I used my Annual Pass and received 10% off the total bill (well, at least it took care of the tip!!).

We were about ready to leave when I told my husband that we had to stop to get a free sundae. Well he was all for getting A FREE anything especially if it is ice cream (free sundae with an entertainment book coupon).

The next day we were going to Blizzard Beach, but it rained all day (the only day that it did, so we were happy). So instead we stayed in the room and vegged out. That evening we were able to go on the monorail for a quiet ride. We decided to just ride and the kids really enjoyed it!!

The next day the weather was a lot better. We went to EPCOT that day. The morning started out at The Norway Pavilion with breakfast at Princess Storybook. It was very nice, if you can't get in at Cinderella's Royal Table, or if you have little ones who like some of the other princesses like Mulan and Jasmine.

To be honest with you, I wish that I had listened to you when you stated that the character breakfast can be missed. I know that we paid a nice amount for each of the character breakfasts that we did (which I think we did four). Next time maybe one - and notice I said MAYBE!! The best one was definitely Chef Mickey's (talk about that one later).

For lunch we ate at the Coral Reef. This is one restaurant that we could have missed. I thought that it would be better than it was. First of all we were placed as far away from the fish as possible (And, yes there were tables closer!!). The food was just O.K.; in fact my husband got sick after.

The evening meal was wonderful. We took you advice and booked a table at the Rose and Crown Pub for 7:50 p.m. We were able to get a patio table and the view of Illuminations was spectacular!!!

The trick I found in getting the patio table was arriving around 1/2 hour earlier than your priority seating time and asking very politely if there would be any patio tables available for your time frame. I found out that by doing this, the waitress will try to help as much as possible. We did wait for quite a while, but trust me the view is well worth the wait!!"

KIM'S TRIP REPORT CONTINUES NEXT WEEK

We invite all our readers to share their experiences at WDW or anywhere else in Florida. Email your comments to johngross@affordabledisney.com and we'll be glad to publish them in The Disney News.
