Hi Everyone! I was reading an email from Beth, our travel agent, the other day and I noticed a link at the end of the letter that referred to a company called SimpleRebates.Com. Like many of you, I like saving as much as possible and the idea of earning up to 40% cash rebates on products from companies I already patronize sounded like a good idea to me! For example, I ordered an electric shaver last week from drugstore.com and there it was on the participating merchants list! Along with Dell (my computer), Amazon.com (my books), Iomega (my zip disks), and 700 others! They also offer exclusive coupons and specials, as well as thousands of liquidation products and sales. Membership is FREE. And best of all, no forms to mail in. I hate rebate forms! They'll even give you $2.00 just for signing up! And you'll get rewards for signing up your friends! For more details or to sign up, click here. Now... Lean back, prop up your feet, and take a Disney break!

News From Around The "World" "Few tourism and security experts were surprised when Disney World began after-hours testing of metal detectors last month at its local theme parks, with an eye toward using them to screen the thousands of visitors who flock to the four parks each day. Instead, some of them wondered why it had taken so long." (Source: Orlando Sentinel, 05/21/04) For the rest of the story, click here. "Universal Studios unwraps its newest attraction on Friday, and it is expecting the ride to help draw big summer crowds. With its creepy bugs, pretzel turns and real flames roiling overhead, Revenge of the Mummy should be anything but a curse to Universal Studios. (Source: Orlando Sentinel, 05/20/04) For the rest of the story, click here. "Discovery Cove usually closes about 5 in the afternoon, but this summer it will reopen two nights a week for a dinner-and-dolphin-swim package dubbed Twilight Discovery." Cost: $249; $149 if you skip the dolphin part. Includes "Caribbean-theme drinks and dinner, live music and a one-week pass to either SeaWorld or Busch Gardens Tampa..." Attendance will be restricted to 100 rather than the usual 1,000. Starts June 17 and will take place Thursdays and Fridays through Sept. 3. Not to be outdone, Disney will begin "My Disney Girl's Perfectly Princess Tea Party" June 10 at the Grand Floridian. "Girls will receive a tiara, a Disney Princess bracelet, a rose, a scrapbook page and a doll, and they'll meet Princess Aurora from Sleeping Beauty." Cost $200. (Source: Orlando Sentinel, 05/17/04) For the rest of the story, click here. Now that NBC owns Universal Studios, the first NBC show to be taped there will be Impact!, a "family"-oriented style of wrestling. The 2-year old pro circuit features "athletic in-ring action" instead of the "shocking antics" in other professional wresting." Park guests can become members of the studio audience starting June 4. (Source: Orlando Sentinel, 05/17/04) NOTE: Links to newspaper articles change quickly and without notice. If you receive a "File Not Found" error message, search the newspaper's archives for the story.

Thanks." Janet Handy, Bel Air, MD Details on how to purchase these special passes will be provided with your Disney access codes as soon as you join our Disney family.
Fran writes: "Five of us visited Disney World last November. We were fortunate in that our son is in the military, and we were able to get the 5 day pass at [the military rate]. We took our motorhome, and stayed at Ft. Wilderness, so were able to get into places early. I guess our cost would be a little cheaper than you can imagine, considering we had our own kitchen with us. We did however attend the Hoop de doo review, which the last time we attended it was in 1978, our first trip. As you can see, we are die hard disney fans. We didn't see any problems with litter, other than the occasional person who could not make it to a trash container, and they are everywhere. All of the disney personnel we had contact with were friendly and cheerful. The bus drivers were great. Maybe, some of the complaints are because people are just in too much of a hurry, and don't have time to be friendly also. Our son, daughter-in-law and granddaughter had a great time. They also took advantage of the other theme park offers for military personnel. We, my husband and I, decided you couldn't do any better than Disney, so why waste the time or money. By the way, they liked Disney the best also, second best was Sea World. They have cabin facilities at Ft. Wilderness also, if a group wants to go." Thanks, Fran, for the feedback. We appreciate your son's service to our country.
Karen writes: "John, my family and I which consists of five adults and three children ages 3year old twins and a 7year old boy want to go to Disney next Easter. It's hard with all those people to stay in separate rooms. My question to you is does Disney have any suites on the property or anything else that could accommodate all of us without costing so much money so we could spend our money elsewhere?" They have resorts that accommodate large groups, but they are expensive. However, they do provide cooking facilities, which could save you a lot on your food bill. You will have to compare the expense of booking more than one room at the All Stars, Port Orleans, or the cabins with the cost of Disney's Villas and Vacation Homes, while factoring in any savings on meals.
