John and Matt sent us this trip report:

"Your newsletter asks for trip reports of our WDW adventures, so here is my report on Spring Break at WDW!

My 15 year-old son and I ventured to WDW during Spring Break March 16-20. On previous trips, we have usually stayed at the Yacht & Beach resort or Caribbean Beach, but this time opted for the new Disney Pop Century resort. What fun!

We were very impressed with the whole Pop Century concept of the different decades and the way Disney chose to represent each era. We spent quite some time just wandering the grounds and taking pictures with all the decade icons -- Lady & Tramp, Play-Doh, Big Wheel, Mougli & Ballou, Mr. & Mrs. Potato Head, etc. We stayed in the 80's wing, complete with the giant Rubick's Cube stairwells.

As with most value-resorts, the rooms were small but efficiently laid out. Having an in-room wall safe was nice for storing the valuables we didn't want to haul to the parks. And if you like hunting Hidden Mickey's, check the bathroom wallpaper carefully.

My only real comment about the rooms was that the bathroom toilets were down-right scary! They are low-water toilets which use air-power assist. When flushed, it gives quite a powerful burst of air and water to clean them out. Once, I even saw the closed toilet lid pop up briefly when flushed! A small child would probably be easily startled by the noisy "toilet monster"... Other than that, we slept very comfortably.

The dining facility at the Classics Hall was an interesting experience and downright chaotic at peak times. We typically only ate breakfast there on our way to the buses to the parks. The many cafeteria serving lines offer different fare at each, and naturally the longest lines were for the Mickey and Pop-Century Waffles, and the cinnamon rolls.

The omelets were tasty despite sometimes sitting under a heat lamp for a bit. (If you really want a fresh omelet, ask for any type that they are currently out of and then wait a bit as the chef cooks a fresh one.) After a few days of breakfasts, the hash-brown potatoes served with every breakfast entree becomes a bit boring. You can spot more Hidden Mickey's in the tile of the food court floor." Are You Suffering Withdrawal From WDW?

You know ... that empty feeling you get when you arrive back home from your vacation at WDW and realize it may be a while before you experience that Disney magic again? We have had that feeling ourselves many times. Yet, we always seem to feel better when we read about the experiences of others who share their trip reports with us. It's almost like being there again.

We invite you, our readers, to send us some feedback about your experiences during your latest vacation at WDW. Reports on Disney weddings, honeymoons, cruises, and resort vacations on and off Disney property are all welcome. Email us at johngross@affordabledisney.com . Thanks!

Tickets for the 2004 Mickey's Not So Scary Halloween Party and the 2004 Mickey's Very Merry Christmas Party are now on sale!

Beth writes: "Mickey's Halloween Party is a special ticket event... Even if you have a ticket for the Magic Kingdom that day you have to buy another ticket to get in (or stay in) for the party. The dates this year are October 1, 3, 8, 12, 14, 17, 20, 22, 24, 26, 28, 29 and 31. The event takes place 7:00 PM to midnight. Costumes (that aren't scary) are very much encouraged - for adults as well as kids. You can go trick-or- treating your way through the Magic Kingdom and enjoy the attractions with minimal lines. it's a great time! Tickets are $31.95 for adults, $25.95 for ages 3-9, plus tax if purchased in advance on the Disney website or by calling  1-407-W-DISNEY. You'll pay more at the gate and the events frequently sell out in advance.

Mickey's Christmas Party is similar in that you need the special ticket to get in (or to stay in). The dates are every Sunday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday starting November 28 through December 17. You get hot chocolate and cookies, a commemorative family photo, special parades and fireworksŒÓù

Note that the Affordable Disney space that we are offering at AMAZING rates ($99 + tax per night at Port Orleans in October; and $89+ tax at Port Orleans and $154 a night Animal Kingdom Savannah view in December) coincide with these special events.

Don't delay if you want to reserve your spot!
