Hi Everyone! For some reason, our HTML newsletter is not opening in Hotmail. I've had the list server look into the problem, but they can't find anything wrong with the code. I know how frustrating this is for you Hotmail users since my wife, Donna, uses Hotmail and she can't read the newsletter, either! News From Around The "World" "The power of the Force and the magic of Disney combine once again for Star Wars Weekends, scheduled for five consecutive weekends (Friday, Saturday and Sunday) beginning May 14, 2004, at Disney-MGM Studios." "The company says although it's tap water it undergoes special filtering to remove impurities. Judith Snyder, brand PR manager for Dasani, confirms "municipal" supplies were used." 4-Day Park Hopper Pass Special Purchase Get them for $9.00 less than Disney charges at their site! It comes with all the bells and whistles of a normal 4-Day Park Hopper, but it expires 14 days from its first use. However, for people who plan on going just 4 days, it's a great deal. This pass is only available for advance order purchasing. 4-Day Park Hopper Plus Pass Our ticket agent writes: "I have acquired the new Disney 4-Day Park Hopper Plus Pass. It is not sold at the gate or AAA. You get 1 "plus" day for the Water Parks or Pleasure Island. It has no expiration date." You must purchase this pass in advance. So order early! "I thought I knew all the tips for saving money at WDW, even being a member of the Magic Kingdom Club for over 15 years, but just learning about [your ticket agent] saved our family over $300!!! Thanks." Janet Handy, Bel Air, MD Details on how to purchase these special passes will be provided with your Disney access codes as soon as you join our Disney family.
Disney Fun Stuff Beth, our travel agent, writes: "What else can you add on? Well, I recently wrote about the new Prince/Princess add-on and that's going over very well. I don't think there's a parent of a small child anywhere that wouldn't pay to avoid standing in those live show lines, and the fact that you get cash AND breakfast, too, is a bonus! It's $23 for adults, $64 for kids ages 3-9, and it can ONLY be added to Dream Maker packages. If you're leaving the kids at home, consider the Romance Package. It, too, only goes with a Dream Maker offer - and usually it has to be a full price Dream Maker - but you get a horse-drawn carriage ride with champagne, a dinner at any one of many restaurants (including Narcoosee's, Yachtsman Steakhouse, and lots more) and your choice of a romance feature (50 minute couples massage, or Cirque du Soleil, or a round of golf). The price is $149 per adult. To put that into perspective, if you did golf, a surf and turf dinner, and the carriage ride that would easily hit $350. And did you notice that the price on the silver plan has dropped for children this year? It's now just $35 per child ($68 per adult) per night of stay to add two magical wishes per night. Use those wishes for meals, Cirque tickets, merchandise, recreation, and more. You can use all your wishes on one day, or spread them out - it's up to you. Cirque tickets are $76 and $46 (adult/child) with tax, and it takes two "wishes" for those, but you still come out ahead. Same with several of the better restaurants. In other words, if you do a little planning in advance you can get some deals! And my last note for today... Did you know that Disney can now add on a beach stay to your package? They've made arrangements with several hotels on both the East and West coast of Florida so that you can go get sand in shoes either before or after your Disney stay. On the West coast they offer the Sheraton Sand Key, the Hilton Clearwater, and Tradewinds Grand Resort in St. Petersburg. On the East coast they offer the Bahama House in Daytona beach or Disney's Vero Beach Resort. As with most Disney packages, the value of booking through them vs. going directly to the hotel or through another course varies, but if you're going to do a beach stay AND a Disney package anyway, then it never hurts to ask!"
Joe writes: "I have a question and I'm hoping you might know the answer? It's regarding Disney's Annual Pass. I was questioning one of the reservations people at Disney about getting the Annual Pass rate. She told me that the Annual Pass needed to be dated at least the day before my reservations where made. If I purchase an Annual Pass at my local Disney store, I believe I only get a voucher to be exchanged for my actual pass when I arrive at the park? Can I still use this to get a discounted room? I don't want to spend nearly $400, and then find out I can't get the discounted rate?" You will receive a voucher for your Annual Pass if you purchase it at the Disney Stores. You do NOT need the pass to get the AP discount on the phone. Just show your AP at check-in. The official rule is you need an activated pass at check-in, but many guests are not even asked to show it and many only have an unactivated voucher. In any event, do NOT buy the pass until you have booked the room and gotten the AP discount.
Dianna writes: "Which hotel would you prefer for young children: polynesian, contemporary, or the swan?" The Contemporary is easily accessible to the Magic Kingdom and Epcot. The kids will love to see the monorail come into the building. The resort also has one of the best character meals at WDW.
